My Learning And Blogging Resources
Whatever you decide to do, you must first equip yourself with the right knowledge. This means investing time and money in yourself to learning effectively in order to start on the right track.
No doubt there are lots of information available online and it is not necessary to purchase any courses, books or attend classes, but having access to all these would definitely help you fast track the whole process.
Apart from getting the right education, another important thing to acquire is the tools. Almost every venture we embark upon would need some amount of tools to help us along the way. Tools can be of any forms depending on the industry.
Once you have the knowledge and a better understanding of what your next move is, you will be more confident to take the plunge.
Starting Wonderful Mommy has been a very interesting journey so far. There have been lots of learning involved in each and every step.
Before starting my own blog, it seems easy enough just by looking from the outside. I foolishly thought that the only important thing to do was just to get some good articles written and then publish them online. Never did I imagine there was such an immense degree of work and effort happening on the back end.
Luckily for me, I made the right decision as I understand the importance of investing in myself and nurturing the right mindset if I want to succeed.
So here is a list I’ve curated, consisting of all the courses and blogging tools I’ve used and recommend. As I continue learning and moving forward in this arena, I will keep this list updated with new resources which I feel is worth sharing.

This was the first blogging e-course I purchased and the reason why I can successfully kick start Wonderful Mommy.
Allison is an amazing teacher. Her course is so nicely presented, easy to follow and she definitely understands the struggle of her students when it comes to techie stuff.
I never expected this course to be so immense and it was well worth the investment. This course covers the very beginner topics such as finding your blog niche, creating your business plan and goals and all the way to marketing and creating your own product.
I highly recommend this e-course to those who are planning to start their blog. It can really save you lots of time when you have all the answers in one place.

Domain And Hosting
Wonderful Mommy is hosted by Siteground. I’ve spent quite a bit of time researching on which hosting company to use for my blog.
As a newbie, it make sense to choose one which is reliable, has a great team of reputable customer support and attractive yet affordable packages.
I signed up for 12 months which only costs me $3.95/month and the good news is they even offer free site set-up which is a total relieve for many newbies!
Genesis by Studiopress
This blog runs on Genesis Framework. I chose Genesis because it gives my site a strong foundation. With its many functionalities, it is easy to customize, even for a newbie like me, without messing with any code.
Genesis Framework is also SEO friendly and mobile responsive.
This is a great savior for beginners who are tight on budget. It is 100% free service for up to 1000 subscribers PLUS full access to all features, including automation! Yes, you hear me right. Full access. Which also means a lot of learning is required to master it and make full use of it to help you build your list.
If you have not signed up yet, quickly do so now to grab the great offer!
Productivity And Online Storage
It’s neat and easy to use. You can store and share documents, videos, images. Free storage up to 2GB
I use Google Docs a lot. This makes it very convenient and easy for me to access my files from anywhere. It’s also great for collaboration work and content sharing. Free storage up to 15GB.
Contact Me Form
This is the form I use for my Contact Me Form. It’s very straight-forward, clean look and easy to use.
Image And Photo Editor
I use Canva for most of the images. They have both paid and free version. I’m using the free version which is good enough. At this moment, they only have iPhone app but not for Android.
This is another helpful graphic design and editor tool. Same as Canva, you can either have the free or premium version. Their latest addition is the Curved Text. This is interesting. Check it out especially if you’re looking for something compelling and special for your brand.
If you can’t have enough of beautiful fonts, enjoy making inspiring quotes, beautiful logos and always on the hunt for nice background photos, then you must check this out. Start free with 10 images/month or easily upgrade to their premium package depending on your needs.
I do my photo hunting from the following sites. They are royalty-free images which mean you can use them however you want, with no attribution required.
- Pic Jumbo
This one is easy and straight forward. Just copy and paste your articles and it’ll do the checking for you. As I do not have the budget for now, I’m just using the basic version which is free. There are more functions available for their paid version.
So that’s about all. Quite a list for a new blog, ha. That’s why I say, learning is fun. I would not have known all these if I didn’t start Wonderful Mommy. I hope this list comes in handy for you. Feel free to share it with your friends or pin it for easy reference.
